hey all, I have been bleeding like the proverbial stuck pig for days now. I saw a dr @ an urgent care center, but all he did was give me pain killers for the cramps (thx doc, hope i don't bleed out). I have an appt with a gyn on monday, but this is killing me. ok, 8 days on, 4 off the another 5 of heavy bleed.....this MUST end soon (hopefully without me in a hole thx) in 3 short days i soaked 44 pads. 44 FREAKIN PADS!!!! when i called the urgent care doc back about my concerns the bastard's nurse chica explained how i couldn't get anymore painkillers.....WAS I ASKING FOR PAINKILLERS???? no. i was asking about my bleeding. they then recommended i go to the ER. this may not be a concept some people understand, but I AM POOR. going to the ER simply isn't an option considering it is 500 bucks to walk in the door. so i sit here bleeding, hoping i have enough blood left to make it til monday. anyone else have this happen before? have any ideas? live near cincinnati and want to rub my back? ;)
I really hate being on my period. It sucks. I try to stay positive everytime it comes but I hate these cramps and everything that comes along with it. Is there anything I do to stay more positive about it? I know it's just a part of womanhood but seems like as soon as it's over..here it comes again! *sighs*
Has anyone on BC (I'm on OTC, btw) skipped a period without intending to? Like you take your placebos and it still doesn't come? Because I usually get mine on Thursday and I am suffering from the effects (cramping, spotting, etc.) but I still haven't gotten it and I stop my inactive pills on Saturday night. =/ Is this natural? Should I not worry about it?
My younger sister just got her period in the end of june for the first time. It's been continuing for the last 3 weeks, on and off. Should my mom mention this to our doctor?
Thanks for everyone and their kind replies to my last post. I just went to the bathroom and found I've gotten my period. =D Whee. I just thought I'd let everyone know and say thank you again for all your kind advice and reassurances.
Now that I'm "in the hut", as it were, I can't really be upset about having cramps or the fact that I'm having a pretty heavy period. I'm pretty relieved it's here. I knew I wasn't pregnant, because I was having all the symptoms, I just wasn't menstruating. I shouldn't have been so worried, I know that now. :)
I feel like a weirdo discussing this with people I don't know..BUT I'm really worried because I havn't gotten my period in over 2 months. My period is always WEIRD. Sometimes I wont get it for a month and sometimes I might get it 2 times a month... I got a pregnancy test and it was negative so I don't think I'm pregnant.. though I don't know how reliable those things are. I don't think I am pregnant though. I havn't had any symptoms of pregnancy besides sore boobs.
Has anybody else not had their period for over 2 months like this? Should I be worried?
ok, I couldn't find this anywhere, but I probably just skipped over it (I'm sorry) but anyways, I was on Ortho-Novum for 3 months and ran out (Planned Parenthood gave me 3 months and my living sitch has changed and so it's impossible for me to get in there anymore) anyways, I started my first period since going off of it and it's kinda bothering me. Like, I always had really bad cramps before I went on it, but the past three days have been really really bad and it's been really heavy. Normally It's only heavy for like one day and then lightens up and the cramps go away, but it's still going strong. It's also not a dark brownish red like normal, it's like bright red. It also doens't smell "fishy" like normal, it smells coppery like straight blood does...so, I'm just curious if this is normal after going off BC or if I should be really worried and go to the ER or something...
