Feels so good to be through it for the month...I had a bad one!

ok, so i have two silly questions.
first of all, is it a really bad idea to use tampons of a higher absorbancy than you really need? my flow isn't all that heavy, but i'm still using super plus absorbancy ones so that i can wear what i want and i don't have to worry about changing anything for several hours at a time. i know not to leave them in for longer than the box indicates, but i don't know if it's safe to use a heavier one than is necessary. anyone know?
also, is it a bad thing to take a tampon out when it's still mostly dry and then to put a new one in relatively quickly? like, is it a problem to switch them too often?
thanks a lot!

I haven't had my period since 2 months ago, I skipped it twice and I know that I'm not pregnant for sure because I've never done "it". All my day-to-day activities have been normal. Would wearing pads when it's not your period affect it and cause you to skip your period? And how many years does it take for your cycle system to regulate? My period is rarely on the same date, sometimes off by much. It has been almost 3 years since my first period.

ok, i just posted, but i have another semi-related question for you ladies: does anyone else ever feel uneasy about using tampons? i use them all the time because they're fast and convenient, but something about using a tampon really bothers me. they're obviously not environment-friendly, but aside from that, they feel really unnatural. i don't like the thought of having a piece of cotton collecting drying blood inside of me; i'm not squeamish about it, it just doesn't feel right. i feel like my period isn't flowing freely, like i'd be happier if my body could release blood naturally or at least hold it in a more acceptable way. i dislike pads, too; i just think they're gross.

i've heard of instead cups, keeper cups, and sea sponges (i think that's what they're called..), but i don't have a lot of info. my problem is, in looking for an alternative to tampons, i'd need something that wasn't comparitively large. i'm definitely squeamish about inserting anything *too* much larger than a tampon, and even more squeamish about having to dig around with my fingers (rendering something like a diaphragm most likely impossible to use). i'd like something that wasn't going to harm the environment and that felt a lot more natural and sanitary than tampons. does anyone have any ideas, suggestions, information? i'd really appreciate any help. thanks!

Oh man, I need my period NOW.

These obsessive licorice cravings are wrecking my diet.

Just had to say it.

Thank you.

Um.

I know they say that if you have a yeast infection, you should use pads instead of tampons. Do you think that applies to cups, too? I'm assuming it's about the same because it's still something for germies to breed on . . . but hey, if there's some special germ-repelling property of latex or silicone or that stuff they make Instead from, let me know!

I actually can't figure out whether I'm infected or not; I've been having slightly clumpy, maybe kind of curd-like white discharge on an irregular basis, and occasional itching. My mom's been saying that as long as it doesn't smell or become dark, I should be fine with lots of fluids, but I can't help but wonder. Am I being paranoid, or I should I insist on seeing a gynecologist soon, before my period hits in the next few days?

i'm kind of assuming the yOni's menstrual tip board has been linked here before, but here it is again :-)

i'm on my rag right now & find it comforting to reread and remind myself of some of these suggestions. And the background image is so pretty!

peace,

Well, since I'm on OTC and very busy lately and mainly don't want to have to deal with needing a toilet every three or four hours and also don't want to be troubled with buying pads again, I decided to skip. So instead of my placebo pills, I started my new pack. And today was the day I would normally have gotten my period.

Let me tell you, there was a civil war raging here. My body kept saying that I'm supposed to bleed now, but my hormones kept telling my body no, definitely not. So I ended up spending half the day nauseous and cramping. It didn't help that I was at a friend's house since yesterday and they're remodeling the bathroom, so even after they did finally install the toilet around three this afternoon, there's still no doors. And I was just feeling too poorly to get up and come home to my secluded toilet room. >_<

Anyone else tried skipping on OTC and had similar issues? I'm figuring that it's related to the fact that OTC has a different level for each week. I'm assuming it's easier to skip when one's on, say Mircette or Aleese?
