Hrm... this is a somewhat complicated matter, I'll try to explain it understandably, though.

I've had irregular periods for about two years now, but the break between two cycles never got to be any bigger than six weeks or some such. Then last year around my graduation exams, my period stopped for about three months or some such but I didn't give it much thought - I thought it was a thing of stress (I also got a heavy gastritis around that time, so stress was definitely in the equation). Then I moved (in September) and I honestly didn't even notice I didn't have a period. So that was a break of about half a year (I think?), but no stress or weight loss/gain. Shortly after New Year my period started again - but now I've got the third in just seven weeks. And also, I have truly horrendous cramps all the time (as opposed to once for about an hour a few days before it starts) and general stomach trouble :(

I've no chance to get to a ObGyn anytime soon and I am rather worried about the whole thing (the presence of period, actually, I don't mind the absence). So, any suggestions? I know this is rather vague but I hope someone has any suggestions - I'm on break right now and have the chance to spend a day or two in bed, but that won't last forever (however much I may wish ;))

Warning: graphic and I dont know how to cut

Ok, since having my son (19 months ago) and getting my period back (7 months ago) the first day of my period has been REALLY heavy. Im talking, an ounce and sometimes more in one day heavy...with the remaining 4 or so days being no more than spotty. This moon, I woke up SOAKED...went into the bathroom to wash up and get a mamapad. I sat on the loo, and drained whatever was left inside, and when I got up and turned around to flush, it looked like someone had been murdered in my toilet. I use cloth pads, and can usually go most all day, even on heavy days, without changing. My pads are very very absorbent hemp french terry and fleece backed. About 2 hours later, I had been sitting on the sofa nursing my boy, and he fell asleep. I scootched him off of my lap and onto the sofa beside me, and stood up to go do some cleaning. I could feel myself draining onto my pad, and didnt think a thing of it, until I knelt down to pick up something from the floor....I proceeded to soak right through the pad, my undies and my jeans, down my leg...it was really a nasty bleed through. I went to the bathroom again, to find that my pad had been SOAKED. Im betting there were 2 ounces of fluid all together there.
I wake up this morning, and Im still bleeding profusely. I don't feel sick or shakey or anything...but JEEZUS. And, Im crampy as hell..and dont usually get cramps at all. Am I going to bleed to death? lol

ok i had a baby 3 months ago,my mom said that after you have a baby it
takes a wile for your second period to come..well i've had sex about 3
times sence i've had the baby and we've used condoms each time and
theres no way that i can be preg again, i didn't get my period for the
month of feb yet so i was wondering can sex make your period come earlier
or later?..like does it switch up your cycle? or is my period not here
yet because my body still has to get use to the changes of not being
preg anymore?

I feel like a big dork posting this since I have a "regular" lj with my "regular" friends. But I've started this journal specifically for my "down there." I wanted a safe place to explore femininity, feminism, my cycles, sex, and everything else that's related to what I was born with between my legs in a really frank way. Unfortunately, for the most part, I don't think that my friends in my other journal are kindred souls in that respect, and the ones who are don't care to hear about my exploits in bed then look at me over lunch! So I'm out looking for some new lj friends who maybe are interested in the same topics. So, um, be my friend? Did I mention I feel like a big dork? :-)

This is the damndest thing. My period is due. I've got cramps. When I sit at my desk at work, I *feel* that period moistness. When I sit on the toilet, I *smell* period. Yet, no period. Stupid body, playing with me like this.

definetly a wonderful community. im so thankful i found this community because i have a problem i need help with.- im 16 and have had my period since i was 10. i never really used tampons until this summer because i was uneasy with even looking at my vagina, but after i read cunt and had my first gyno visit i found a new respect for my wonderful lady part. i prefer tampons to pads bc they are just more comfortable and not as messy, but they make me so dry. sometimes i get so dry that i cant even put another tampon in and need to use a pad. has anyone else ever had this problem and what did you do? i know that there are other options but i dont know where i would get them and if they would be easy considering im in school 6 hours of the day 5 days a week. thank you for your help.
peace and love, danielle
