I am on Seasonale and I only get my period every three months and this month it is AWFUL! Horrible cramps, headaches, and the heaviest flow I have had since before starting BCP ten years ago! Today is day 4 already and I'm so uncomfortable - I just want it to be OVER!!!

(sorry for whining, but my husband is tired of hearing it)

Ok,
I've read a bit about kegel exercises and thought I may as well give it a shot.
Now, I rememebr reading something along the lines of not exercising them when urinating? (can cause urine somethign infection?)
but what about when you're on your perioids?? Not using a tampon or anything, just pads.
Good or bad idea?

x-posted, not verbatim, to [livejournal.com profile] amipregnant

I had a sexual intercourse during the time when I would have been fertile, and I used a condom, which broke. My boyfriend noticed it broke immediately and pulled out, not finishing inside of me. I know there is a possibility of pregnancy because pre-ejaculate can fertilize an egg; therefore, I have been anticipating my period.

I read that a pregnant woman can experience spotting in the place of a period and mistake it for her period, and thus begins my question. Today I have bled, at about the time I would be experiencing my normal period, so I would consider it my first day. However, the amount of blood is less than I would have usually expected for first-day flow. I would like to think it is more blood than would occur during spotting, but it is much less than I would have expected, and I have started to really worry.

How much blood constitutes a period versus spotting?
Do I have a legitimate worry?

Thank you.

Hey everyone, I just joined today.

It's a huge relief to find a place like this, where I can learn more about this monthly pain and how other people deal with it. Just going through the posts on the first page I'm already saying to myself "Wow, I know exactly what she's saying.." To be cliche, I'm glad to know I'm not alone.

I found this place just in time, too. My pre-period cramps have been raging the past couple days. It's kind of weird, because I don't really get cramps during my period, per say, just a couple days before and maybe the first day of my period. When I do get them though, I just want to take a knife and cut my uterus out. It'd probably hurt less. Grr. >_<

Thanks for putting up with my whining. Later!

Ladies, do any of you know the symptoms of ovarian cysts? Either first hand knowledge or stuff you've read or heard about?

A question- does anyone else get really hungry during/before/after their period? I just started mine today, and I can't stop eating. I'm not certain why, but I'm worried it might be a problem with not getting enough nutrients, especially because I've wanted meat all day. Any advice? Should I be worried?

First off I just want to say this community is a wonderful idea, there should be more out there for women's health, our bodys are so complicated that information like this is great to find X_x! So to the mod(s) of this community, props to you!!

Anyways, I just joined this community a few minutes ago in hopes of getting some good advice~

I am 17 years old, and I am going to be a senior in highschool. Last year I missed 5-7 days of school every month due to my period. It's un-naturally heavy, and Ive had to many accidents at school, even with a overnight pad on, plus the first two days I feel sick, like I have the flu or something. So that caused me to fall behind quite a lot last year, and your junior year is important. Recently my period has gotten a little irregular as well. So my mom and I were considering me going on the Seasonal pill to help me be in school more so I can do well this upcoming year.

My question is, is this a good idea for a 17 year old? I am a little scared of side effects. And will the doctor deny me the pill for any reason? All I have to do is go to the gynocologist and tell them I need Seasonal right? Having Seasonal would help me out so much if it does what it says it does.

Thanks!
