(Mostly for women who use disposeable menstrual products)

How brand loyal are you to your menstrual products?

I was talking to some friends about things that we buy a specific brand of, all the time-toothpaste, toilet paper, and so on. One of the things that was mentioned was menstrual products. Do you buy the same brand of tampons or pads all the time? Ever tried the generic version?

Entered the hut for the first time since joining this community.
Here's my question. Does anybody sleep with a tampon in? I hate wearing a pad, cause in the morning everythin is just a big bloody mess. So is it alright to wear a tampon?

Hey guys..I'm new to the community :)
I'm curious about the Instead softcup. For thos of you who have used it, a) is it hard to insert and/or remove?, and b) if you've had sex with it in, does it change anything? like how wet you get or the sensation or anything?
Forgive me for sounding clueless, I've just discovered Instead and I'd just like to hear some opinions on it. Thanks :)

I thought my period was over and then later in the day felt that oh-so-familar flowage feeling.

I could just picture her pointing and gigglig - "gotcha!!"

Another interesting thing this time around - I knew when it should have started and waited a day or so, then just gave up and wore my "period panties" anyway - you know, the real comfy ones that are kinda ripped and stained - and about 2 minutes later, she showed up. She was waiting for her special panties. :)

but does anyone who's moved from pads to tampons think that wearing tampons extends the length of your period? Mine lasts five days; i've rarely ever had a period that was longer or shorter, but this time, using tampons, it's lasted for seven days so far, and i thought it was done this morning because i wore a pad last night, not a tampon and it was completely clean, but i didn't really feel right about it, so i wore a pad all day and lo and behold, i bleed some, but not a lot. it's kind of weird. anyone else experience something similar? Or is it just something funky that I'm doing wrong?

FINALLY!

Yahoo! I'm in the hut again...finally! My doctor put me on Provera two weeks ago to "jump-start" a period so I could begin birth control (to regulate my cycle)...I took Provera for a week, and nothing happened. I was getting so worried!! I thought that something was wrong because nothing happened for 5 days after my last Provera pill (it's usually not like that). Then finally, my period arrived, and I was so relieved. Talk about tables turning, eh? I used to dread my period...but it has never been so welcomed as it was this month! Haha...so now I am on birth control and everything's good. My next goal is to try a tampon....does anyone have any suggestions about tampons brands that are good for first-timers (i.e. small, easy to insert, etc.)? I am utterly at a loss whenever I am in the "feminine hygiene" aisle looking at them. All my life I have used pads so tampons are kinda new territory.

This might sound stupid but I have a question for all the people that masturbate on this list. I masturbate often and often shortly afterward my crotch area is sore and/or has numb feeling. It goes away after a half an hour max. It's a real hard feeling to describe but does anybody else get this feeling after they masturbate? Is it normal? Does this happen after have sexual intercourse (I wouldn't know for I'm unfortantly still a virgin)? Thanks in advance!!!
